Why Gratitude Should Be A Part Of Your Daily Life.

When you complain you remain. How many times in a day do you find yourself complaining especially during these tough times (covid pandemic). It seems like there is just a lot to complain about. A complaining environment is not conducive to growth. When you complain you attract more things to complain about. I don’t know about you but when I complain, my physical energy is drained and my mind finds it difficult to focus because I am concentrating on dissatisfaction. It takes growth to deliberately not fall into the trap of complaining. Complaining puts you in a state of unproductivity. You can overcome this by practicing GRATITUDE. Gratitude goes beyond just saying thank you when you receive a gift or when one shows you affection.
Gratitude means thanks and appreciation. Gratitude comes from the Latin word gratus, which means “thankful, pleasing.” When you feel gratitude, you’re pleased by what someone did for you and also pleased by the results. In positive psychology, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. It helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.

The Law of attraction and Gratitude
Your mind is like a magnet, Whatever gets into your mind and stays there you will attract it in your life. This works both negatively and positively. When you are grateful and express that gratitude, you will attract more things to be grateful for. Steve Harvey says ” gratitude is a powerful process, when you show gratitude for where you are now, you will get to where you want to be” surely Steve got to where he wanted to be and is still growing. It’s not just about being grateful, the state of gratitude catapults you to the next level. You are more likely to feel anxious and fearful when you complain, but gratitude puts you in a powerful state.

When someone expresses gratitude after you do something good for them, you feel the need to continue being good to them even if you don’t have to. Constantly showing gratitude for the next person strengthens your relationship. You could express gratitude by sending a text message showing your appreciation for their presence in your life. Give it a try with your partner, friends, family, and co-workers, and see how it goes.
How to stay in a grateful state
Just like any other habit, gratitude has to be learned. We have to intentionally express gratitude in our day-to-day lives. Keeping a gratitude journal forces you to look for things you are grateful for. Each morning I make it a priority to write down what I am grateful for, it can be as simple as life, a roof over my head or even having clean water. This sets a positive tone for my day. You don’t have to do it in the morning but try to set aside time to write down what you are grateful for. You could also show gratitude by writing thank-you notes to the people around you. I challenge you to shift your mind from a complaining state to one of gratitude.
