Consistency đź“ť

Getting started on your personal growth journey can be so exciting. Why wouldn’t it be though, you visualize all these positive end results: great shape, healthy finances, enjoyable relationships, etc. We should however consider the process of achieving these goals. There is one major ingredient that is overlooked when it comes to Personal Growth and success. We tend to want to exercise discipline once-off and expect sustainable results. We overestimate what we can achieve in a day and underestimate what we can achieve in a year.
One of the most important keys of a high achiever is consistency. Look at a garden full of beautiful flowers that everyone gazes upon. We all see the end results of the beautiful flowers but it took the gardener consistent discipline watering and weeding the flower garden from the time they were seedlings. This process continues because the moment he stops watering, it’s the moment the flowers dry up. This is the same concept that applies to our personal growth journey. It requires discipline and consistency. Success is a continuous process. We need to snap out of the microwave success mentality and go through the process. Take for example Leonardo Da Vinci, It took him four years to paint the Mona Lisa. That required discipline and consistency. In this day and age, many would have given up in six months or less. I strongly believe in the power of the compound effect. Whatever you consistently do will eventually yield results.
The majority of people find it difficult to be consistent in their growth journey because of;
- Lack of patience
- Desire for instant gratification
- Simply laziness
Why is consistency Important
- Consistency is what separates ordinary from extraordinary
Those who are consistent with their goals just for the extra mile reaps the reward. - It also builds momentum – making your personal growth journey much simpler
- It establishes your reputation
- helps you build trust with the people around you
If you want to become the best version of you, you have to be willing to be consistent
