BUILD YOUR CORE

Build Your Core
When one starts working out, there are certain poses they can not hold or attempt to do. This is because your core will not yet be strong enough to hold you. The process of building one’s core is painful, requires discipline and consistency therefore the majority of people give in before trying. Core refers to the abdominal region, glutens, and back muscles. These areas comprise of the central part of your body and provide stability and allow movement. In simple terms, a strong core gives you stability and allows you to move. Self-improvement and personal development act as the core of your life. But just like your body core, you need to invest, be disciplined and intentionally build your self-improvement core.
There is no way one can build their core strength overnight, it will take time. The same applies to personal growth.
I have made it a part of my lifestyle to build my physical body core strength by making exercising a habit. Because of that, I usually have conversations with people who are trying to get their bodies in shape, and most, if not all complain about how working out did not work for them and hence try to resort to quick fixes. I usually ask them to share their workout schedule and strategy. Most of them start with an hour/ more and hundreds of pushups, no wonder why many give in after a few weeks. Putting too much pressure on your core instead of gradually will cause injury. Not only do you incur an injury but you start looking at core building as a burden or exhausting task rather than a process that benefits you. You have to be patient with yourself when it comes to core building. Little by little a little adds to a lot, learn to not bite more than you can chew to avoid giving in before you can see the results.
If you want to improve yourself, the first step is acceptance. Recognize where you are in your life. Are you in a financial mess? Emotional distress or spiritual fatigue. When you recognize where you are, you have to decide to change. Acceptance does not mean staying in the situation throwing yourself pity parties. The process of going from where you are to where you want to be is “core building” which is personal development. When your core is strong you become stable enough to move forward. The process will not be easy but it will allow you to live a more fulfilled life. Deciding to move from where you are to living your best life is crucial, it allows you to let go of all the excuses and focusing on finding a way. You can either find an excuse or find a way.
Why is it important to build your personal improvement core strength?
– Helps you handle the pressures that come with change and challenges
– Forces you to step out of your comfort zone ( https://tanyafungai.com/comfort-is-a-trap-choose-growth/)
– Allows you to respond in a more positive way during tough times. ( I came across a definition of personal development which stated that “ Personal Development is investing in yourself so that you can manage yourself effectively regardless of what life may bring your way)
– Most importantly building your personal growth core strength helps you live a fulfilled life.
