Dear Adulting Friend

Memories of little me flash vividly before my eyes, wishing upon a shooting star, well I guess the shooting was in my head. But the thoughts of little me lying awake dreaming of being an adult were exciting. “When I get older”, I would think to myself. Being older meant living in my wildest dream. Now that I am older, At times I don’t even recognize myself anymore. The world has taught us to ‘adult’, and get into the responsibilities of life. Work towards the life you want, Work they say, Will I ever work enough? Is this the adult I dreamt of becoming? Here is a reminder to everyone in the process of adulting despite of your stage. Don’t forget to live while you are adulting. Soak in those little joys all around yearning to be recognized by you. Enjoy that meal, and treasure the laughter with your loved ones. Be proud of those mistakes that represent your courage to try. Every time you lose yourself to the rate race of adulting. Ask yourself if this is the adult that little girl/boy dreamt of becoming .

Live through it all, maybe just maybe those are the joys of adulting.
