Postponing Life Because of the wait: The Silent Battle of The Wait Pt 2

Waiting Is Ineviatable

In the previous blog post,  we spoke about the silent battle that comes with waiting and the different soldiers that attack during this period on the battlefield, which is your mind. Waiting is inevitable as long as we are still breathing, and most of us give up on our goals because of this waiting season. You know the goals you’ve set for 2026. Don’t let the fact that they haven’t manifested yet cause you to lose hope or give up on what the Lord has placed on your heart. Having to wait does not equal denial. We have to develop our waiting muscle ( patience ) and keep being and doing our best even while we wait.

We have to come to terms with the fact that waiting is a part of life. You don’t leave the bus/train station because the train has not yet arrived, even when it’s delayed. Why do we leave before the manifestation of our dreams? This year, we will follow through on our goals even through the waiting period.

Your State In The Waiting Period Matters.

It’s not just about waiting; it’s how you wait. Sometimes people are crippled during the wait. Everything else comes to a halt until they get what they are waiting for. This is a recipe for a miserable life. Yes, our dreams and goals are important, but just because they haven’t manifested should not stop you from living life. We should not be too fixated on the manifestation of the dream that we become useless in the present moment. Last year, I wasted so much time—months, because I was waiting on the manifestation of a goal. Everything was hinged on that goal, when I wanted to start my garden, I told myself I would do so when that particular dream came to pass. It was the same for many other things, even writing. The waiting period made me crippled. Guess how much time I wasted? Six good months, that is half of the year. Don’t let that be you this year. We are only in February, and if you are putting in effort and haven’t seen the results yet, don’t let that one area cripple you. Fight the silent battle of the wait, and at the same time, don’t postpone life because your goals haven’t come to pass.

Postponing your life because of the wait is a result of anxiety.

Fix your eyes on Jesus instead of the goals. Postponing your life because of the wait is a result of anxiety. When you completely trust God with your goals, you let go, you are liberated even in the wait. Just because you are going through a rough patch does not mean you are not allowed to smile. Whenever your dreams and goals start to overwhelm you or cause you to postpone living your life, remember to give it to God. Giving it to God does not equal you not showing up to do what he tells you to do during the wait or putting in the work towards the goals. It means you are not carrying the burden and are not consumed with anxiety in that area. Just because you are waiting for a dream to come to pass does not mean you cannot enjoy all the other parts of your life. We are progressive in nature; there will always be a goal we are waiting for and working toward.
