Your Future Forecast

I love the weather forecast; it gives me a glimpse into the future and sometimes helps me plan my days accordingly. On a sunny day, being outdoors & swimming feels like the best way to spend the day, while on a rainy, cloudy day, a good book and hot chocolate are always my go-to. When planning a trip, vacation, or outings in general, we usually check the weather forecast for that day to get an idea of what the future day looks like. Did you know? You also have a future forecast, and no, you cannot Google it or go to a fortune teller; in fact, you have it on you right now. Your mouth! The words you speak show where your life is headed. I like what Terri says, “If you want to know where your life is headed, listen to the words that come out of your mouth. Are you speaking life into your future, or are you complaining and mumbling about how things never change year after year, and there is no hope for a big break, and that’s just how life is for you?

Your Tongue Can Change The Trajectory Of Your Life

In the book of James, he equates the tongue to a small rudder that makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. The “strong winds” can be any situation in your life, and guess what, the rudder (your tongue) can turn the ship out of that situation depending on the words you speak. You can either speak life or death. Words have creation power; God did not create the heavens and earth by doing, but he spoke them into existence. The void became the beautiful universe we adore today. What area of your life has a void, yet you are not using your words to create something beautiful out of the void?

Human beings are governed by beliefs. Whether you believe you can/ you can’t, you are absolutely correct, and that will show up in your life. When you continuously speak something, whether positive or negative, you will eventually believe it in your heart, and we show up and act according to what we believe about ourselves. So speak life, friend.

Be Intentional about the words you speak

As a student of personal growth, the words that come out of your mouth and how you use your words should never be taken lightly. In any area you desire to grow in, let your words direct your destination through speaking life. You cannot have abundance when your words constantly speak of poverty and lack. In your relationships, the words you say can build or break your relationships. Many relationships are destroyed through the words that were exchanged. Make it a priority to speak life in the relationships you are in, with your friends, spouse, and family. Encourage instead of criticizing, speak from a position of love instead of being right. The same applies to your career, dreams, and goals. Write down declarations that set a trajectory for where you are going in those areas. Constantly speak life into your goals, believe it in your heart, and watch them manifest in your life.

This week’s personal growth strategy is to watch what is coming out of your mouth. Intentionally speak life and see your life’s forecast heading in a positive direction.
