A Gentle Guide to Designing Your 2026

Airports & Planned Destinations.

Airports are so huge. In some airports, a flight takes off every hour. You can imagine how many gates that airport would have. Each gate is assigned to a specific airline, which flies to a particular destination. I have missed a flight before, and it’s not a pleasant feeling. When you are unfamiliar with the airport, I suggest arriving a little early so that you can go to the correct gate on time and ultimately avoid missing a flight. Even though the airport might have multiple planes taking off that day, you can’t just board whichever plane you want; you need a plane that will take you to the destination you desire. The same theory applies to our lives, where you are and who you are today is a result of the plane you boarded years ago, and who you are today is the destination. Before you go to the airport, you already know your destination. Unfortunately, in real life, some people have no idea where they are going, so they board a plane from the first gate they see at the airport. As students of personal growth, the latter can not be us. We must be responsible for selecting the destination before boarding the plane (create habits we live by), and we do this through planning & goal setting.

You Create Twice

Before a vision manifests, it is created twice, first in the mind ( then you pen it down) and in real life. When a house is built, it is first completed on paper by drawing the plan/structure of the house that the builders will follow as they bring the plan to life. Effective planning and goal setting will help you with your first creation, a blueprint of how you want your life to turn out. You can plan in different stages, lifetime, 10 years, 5 years, 3 years, 1 year, one week, and one day. Your daily, weekly, and yearly plans should ultimately contribute to your lifetime plan. As we focus on the upcoming year 2026, we are going to focus on the annual plan. What is your desired destination for 2026, and will your destination help you take a connection flight to your lifetime plan?

Your Plan Will Carry You When Feelings Can’t.

When you have a dream or goal on your heart, you are excited to take action, but unfortunately, feelings are not always the same every time; that is where your plan comes to the rescue. Follow the plan even when you don’t feel like it. It’s not every day that you feel like showing up. As you go through 2026, make sure your PLAN is within sight. Do not make a 2026 plan and shove it in your dresser; you will not reach your destination. In fact, there will be a higher chance of boarding the wrong plan(living with habits that lead you to the wrong destination). Make sure to review your 2026 plan. Let it be an anchor for your monthly, weekly, and daily plans and the decisions you make.

It’s Okay To Pivot

Constantly reviewing your yearly plan will help you pivot when needed. Proverbs 19:21 Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand. As you execute your plans in 2026, don’t be afraid to pivot when necessary. The blueprint has the capacity to be extended or changed. You still need to follow the direction of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes, dead ends in your plans are a sign for you to pivot.

Before you download your 2026 planning guide, here are some of the areas in your life you need to look at:
