The Best Part About The End of Year: Start Growth Mapping 2026
How amazing it is that it felt like yesterday when we were excited about the New Year (2025)! Oh, how time has just flown by. It’s November, and I am not here to debate whether you should start putting up your Christmas decorations or not, even though I am for the former. I enjoy how the end of the year is associated with slowing down and spending time with family and friends. For us, on a quest to grow and better ourselves, it is also a time to set the tone for the year 2026! Typing 2026 just makes it so real that we are closing 2025.
Firstly, congratulations on showing up this far, for your desire to keep growing and becoming better in every area of your life. I know 2025 was not a linear year for anyone; life will always have its ups and downs. The most important thing is that you keep showing up. It’s important to remember that the way we show up is also not linear. Sometimes consistency does not look like being a 10 daily, so don’t beat yourself up for those moments in 2025 when you feel like you did not do enough. Even if you beat yourself up, it will not change anything, will it? What it may do is keep you in a position of beating yourself up, and cause you to stop showing up for tomorrow.

While we prepare to set the tone for 2026, we will focus on Reflection and planning for the new year, starting with reflection. When it comes to reflection, we want to focus on authenticity so as to have a clear and honest picture of where we are and how we showed up in 2025. The first step to growing in any area is self-awareness. You cannot expect to grow in, say, your relationships when you don’t know how you are showing up currently. When you want to use Google Maps to take you to a certain location, first you must pinpoint where you are for it to be able to give you a route to take. That’s exactly what we want to achieve when it comes to our reflection.
Sometime this year, there was a scripture on honest reflection that stood out for me, Romans 12:3;
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. NLT
For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him. AMPC
This is the verse that will guide our reflection this month. For this week’s personal growth strategy tip, let us meditate on this scripture in preparation for an authentic reflection as we set the tone for 2026. In the upcoming weeks, we will provide you with worksheets to help with your reflection journey. 2025 is not yet over; keep going after your dreams and goals for this year.
